The incumbent will maintain and improve technology and other systems to support and enhance the mission of the SBC Alumnae Relations and Development Office. This person will partner with major gifts and oversee stewardship and provide strategic direction and framework to ensure that the College demonstrates gratitude, recognition and responsiveness to its donors, alumnae, and volunteers.

Position Type/Expected Work Hours: Full time, Monday through Friday 8:30 am to 5:00 pm with flexibility for events or special projects as needed

Essential Responsibilities:

Advancement Focus

  • Coordinate with supervisors to make the official request needed for access for new and existing AR&D employees in Banner and other systems
  • Work with IT to maintain the integrity and usefulness of the Banner Advancement module
  • Coordinate and supervise use and integration of Anthology software service
  • Work with IT to maintain the integration of bolt-on and other services with Banner and other College systems, especially ARGOS
  • Train AR&D Staff on Banner and other needed technologies in use for AR&D
  • Watch for industry trends and new technologies that could be incorporated to improve AR&D activities
  • Coordinate with Finance to ensure technological systems and processes continue to work for both departments effectively (i.e. communication through shared Banner database areas, fund tracking and management, etc.)
  • Prepare and submit the annual VSE Survey

Stewardship Focus

  • Develop annual stewardship plan for donors
  • Maintain moves management prospect tracking for solicitation and stewardship
  • Partner with major gifts on unique stewardship opportunities, based on giving level, type and donor engagement metrics, such as donor loyalty programs, first time giving programs
  • Manage identity-based giving circles with volunteer support, fund stewardship and sustainable membership structure
  • Keep receipt, acknowledgement letter, and gift form templates up-to-date for use by self and other staff members
  • Work with finance and financial aid to ensure proper reporting and student stewardship efforts

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • One to three years of experience in donor relations and stewardship;
  • Proficient in all aspects of Advancement, including alumnae relations and annual, major, and planned giving
  • Highly effective communications skills, written and oral
  • Knowledge and utilization of on-line fundraising strategies
  • Excellent judgment and high integrity
  • Business and financial knowledge, to include budgeting skills and financial reporting
  • Commitment to the long-term sustainability of the College
  • Expert level skills with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google platform, Banner and ARGOS
  • Highly technologically competent

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Applicable experience within an institution of higher education
  • Familiarity of gift tax-implications and rules, nonprofit accounting, GAAP, and CASE rules and regulations
  • Experience with reporting to external agencies

Work Environment: Traditional office environment, primarily indoors

Physical Demands: Extensive computer use and typing required; extended periods of sitting/standing may be required. May be required to lift up to 25 lbs. Extended periods of sitting/standing and computer work are required

Travel: Less than 10% for travel and/or conference attendance or training
