Monmouth University is seeking applications for an Annual Giving Director, Digital Philanthropy in the Alumni Engagement and Annual Giving department.

Reporting to the Senior Director for Alumni Engagement and Annual Giving, the Annual Giving Officer, Digital Philanthropy implements online annual giving programs including crowdfunding, giving days, and micro-campaigns that increase donor participation and annual donations, and assists in all digital marketing efforts [Pay Per Click (PPC), Search Engine Marketing (SEM), Search Engine Optimization (SEO), Facebook ads, etc.] to help grow and support the office’s strategic, philanthropic, and engagement goals. This role will be instrumental in optimizing SEM/SEO best practice strategies and requires a combination of critical thinking and technical knowledge. We are looking for an experienced digital marketer with an inquisitive nature and a creative approach to driving [fundraising] results.

Required Skills or Software:

Basic Knowledge of MS Word 2016, Intermediate knowledge of MS Excel 2016, Must be able to utilize a variety of computer software programs in order to successfully complete assigned tasks, Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills, Must be able to treat confidential and sensitive information appropriately, Must be able to operate a variety of office equipment

Required Years of Experience: 2

Other Requirements:

  • Two years of experience as a storyteller in a digital marketing role with exposure to Search Engine Marketing (SEM) or display ad campaigns across advertising networks such as Google, Facebook, LinkedIn, etc. Experience creating and executing content for digital platforms, including Facebook and Instagram.
  • Proficiency with Canva, the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator), or other similar graphic design tools. Familiarity with MailChimp or similar email marketing platform. Proven experience analyzing and working with large data sets.
  • Adaptable, analytical, and innovative thinker who can work both strategically as well as in a hands-on/executional capacity. Problem solver who can take initiative and set priorities while being flexible. Highly organized and able to handle multiple projects. Adept at navigating complex environments with evolving priorities and communication plans. Strong and collegial interpersonal skills and an ability to communicate effectively in person, in writing, and by phone, combined with collaborative style.

Preferred Qualifications:

Proficiency with WordPress or other similar content management systems. Basic understanding of videography and photography. Digital fundraising experience. Experience relating to donations and non-profits.
