Graduate Alumni Giving Officer, Annual Giving

GRADUATE ALUMNI GIVING OFFICER, ANNUAL GIVINGAlumni Association, to set the strategic direction for the graduate alumni annual giving program and oversee progress toward goals through comprehensive analytical measures, including assessing direct fundraising and portfolio management results.  Will manage a portfolio of annual leadership giving donors and prospects and lead efforts to promote giving opportunities that match MIT’s philanthropic priorities and graduate alumni interests; work with a cadre of graduate school alumni leaders in the Graduate Alumni Council (GAC) to fundraise on select giving days and serve as a sounding board on fundraising initiatives; partner on developing a set of broad-based graduate school appeals for direct fundraising through mail, email, and telephone; and serve as a spokesperson for annual giving initiatives directed to graduate alumni at alumni board meetings and with development colleagues in the schools, departments, labs, and centers.  

Job Requirements

REQUIRED:  bachelor’s degree; five years’ annual giving experience, including soliciting closing gifts, preferably in nonprofit fundraising environments; excellent interpersonal and communication (written, verbal, listening) skills for engaging and building relationships with colleagues, faculty, leadership, alumni, volunteers, donors, and other external constituents; experience working with and managing volunteers; initiative, self-motivation, and a proven record of accomplishment in a position requiring independent planning and efficient utilization of time and resources; attention to detail; analytical skills; ability to work independently, handle diversified tasks, and contribute to a collaborative work environment; discretion and good judgment with highly confidential information; proficiency with computers and standard applications (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Zoom, and PowerPoint).  PREFERRED:  experience with Ellucian Advance Web or other enterprise fundraising system and with volunteer management portal systems.  Job #23069-8

Must be willing and able to work occasional evenings and weekends as needed and to travel occasionally.

This is a hybrid position with a combination of on-campus and remote work.
