Director, Annual Giving Donor Relations and Stewardship,  Alumni Association, to assume a senior management position responsible for setting strategic direction and managing annual donor stewardship.  Will lead comprehensive strategy development for all annual giving level donors with a focus on donor retention, fostering donor loyalty, and creating relevant programming, including events, and benefits for leadership donors ($2,500+); provide fiscal responsibility for stewardship and donor recognition budget; manage endowment and usage reporting for all 120 MIT pooled-funds; collaborate with Resource Development’s Donor Relations and Stewardship team on setting policies and procedures regarding donor relations across campus; and manage a team by providing strategy and vision to drive stewardship and donor recognition efforts.

Job Requirements: 

REQUIRED:

  • bachelor’s degree; seven years’ experience in donor relations, stewardship, or fundraising, preferably in a higher education setting;
  • experience managing a team; two years’ experience supervising staff, setting goals, and managing performance; experience setting and implementing strategy, including providing vision and establishing and meeting goals and priorities; excellent organizational, project management, planning, problem-solving, analytical, interpersonal, and oral and written communication skills;
  • attention to detail;
  • initiative; and discretion and good judgment with confidential information;
  • proficiency with computers and standard applications (including Microsoft Word, Excel, Zoom, and PowerPoint) and experience with Advance or similar database; and support for MIT’s commitment to advancement and diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI).

PREFERRED:

  • background in special events.

Must be willing and able to work evenings and weekends as needed and to engage in occasional travel.

This position will be hybrid, with a combination of on-campus and remote work.
