The Director of Annual Giving, Professional Schools will oversee Loyola’s annual giving initiatives for the School of Law, Quinlan School of Business and the Health Sciences Campus (Stritch, Parkinson, & Niehoff). This position will play a lead strategist and management role on direct response, digital giving, and other annual giving strategies for all professional school programs at Loyola. An excellent communicator who will design solutions that serve the specific graduate program alumni audience to drive donor acquisition, retention & participation. This position will report to the Senior Director, Annual Giving and will oversee an Assistant Director, Annual Giving of Law & Quinlan.

Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Craft, manage, and execute Loyola’s annual giving strategy for all professional schools.
  • Work with annual giving, digital engagement, and philanthropic content strategy teams to coordinate efforts on mass solicitation projects (i.e., Giving Day, mailings, etc.).
  • Hold a strong role in cross-functional University-wide projects and initiatives (i.e., Rambler Giving Day) bringing together multiple stakeholders and help drive decisions.
  • Use research and analytics to inform giving strategies and make recommendations.
  • Identify opportunities for upgrading donors from annual giving to LAG team.
  • Research and makes recommendations for external resources to provide Loyola advancement and partners with vendors for implementation/services.
  • Work with team members to ensure timelines and deadlines are met.

Minimum Education and/or Work Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s degree and seven (7) plus years of experience in fundraising, marketing and/or communications is required. Higher education or non-profit experience a plus but not required.
  • Demonstration of 3-5 years of tenure and longevity at previous employers is required, a history of promotions within organizations is preferred. Individuals with a track record of two years or less in previous roles will not be considered.

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Seven (7) plus years of experience developing and implementing marketing, engagement, and/or solicitation strategies.
  • Three (3) plus years of experience managing annual giving initiatives.
  • Three (3) plus years of experience analyzing data and analytics preferred.
  • Two (2) plus years of managerial experience preferred.

Job Specific Qualifications: 

  • Experience creating fundraising strategies and presenting results and recommendations to the larger team.
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate, influence and collaborate at all levels of a large, complex organization.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills combined with the ability to explain technical information to non-technical users.
  • Capable of juggling multiple tasks and meeting deadlines in a team environment.
  • Proven track-record of success, increasing responsibility and relationship building.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Computer Skills:

Preferred skills include: MS Office, Elucian Advance, Digital Marketing Tools
