The Assistant Director, Annual Giving has the primary responsibility for the Le Moyne College Student Engagement Center (formerly Student Phone-a-thon) and for coordinating logistics of Annual Giving appeals and initiatives. The Assistant Director has focused awareness of current research and best practices to develop multi-channel outreach incorporating student solicitation, direct mail, text to give, and social media, and develops and maintains a calendar of all outreach. The Assistant Director works across functional areas within the Advancement Division to increase outreach and participation that will increase revenue for the College.

Principal Duties and Essential Functions: 

Job duties specific to this position:

  • Manages and maintains all aspects of the Student Engagement Center to support donor engagement and stewardship; yielding $60,000 in support annually.
  • Recruit, hire and directly supervise Student Development Officers, Student Development Officer Managers, and the Graduate Assistant for Annual Giving.
  • Create strategic plans within the Student Engagement Center to meet annual financial goals and respond to changing trends in fundraising.
  • Coordinate logistics and manage project timelines for direct mail appeals including requesting data lists from Information Services and acquiring and compiling design elements as needed.
  • Work with Associate Director, Annual Giving and others in Advancement and Marketing and Communications to plan, prepare, and update a calendar of outreach and solicitation.
  • Work with the Assistant Director, Alumni and Parent Engagement to implement social media strategies, including content created in the Student Engagement Center.
  • Manage a portion of the Annual Giving budget related to the Engagement Center, student payroll, and direct mail.
  • Provide direction to and manage the Graduate Assistant for Annual Giving in the management of Student Development Officers and creation of Engagement Center scripts, emails, and other design elements as needed.
  • Manage Blackbaud Guided Fundraising donor software implementation, data updates and software enhancements. Train student staff on functions of software as needed.
  • Provide support for the student philanthropy committee and stewardship event execution as needed.

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of professional experience required.
  • Must possess excellent organizational, communication, customer service, writing, marketing and data analysis skills.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Accuracy in proofreading, demonstrated computer literacy and attention to detail.
  • Willingness to take initiative is crucial.
  • Strong organizational skills. ability to manage multiple, complex tasks and meet task deadlines.
  • Maintain confidentiality, be self-directed and motivated, and work effectively with others.
  • Must be willing to work evenings and weekends as required to achieve Le Moyne College Annual Giving goals and objectives.
  • Some travel may be required.
