What We Are Looking For:

The Assistant Director, Annual Giving reports to the Director of Annual Giving. This position works collaboratively with the Director of Annual Giving and the Assistant Vice President of Alumni Engagement and Annual Giving in creating, managing, implementing a successful annual giving program that increases participation and cultivates a pipeline of future mid- and major-level donors. The Assistant director manages a portfolio of direct marketing projects within the annual giving program including, but not limited to, traditional direct marketing, digital and web-based marketing, and special campaigns. Additionally, this position will manage relationships with central leadership and partner units to effectively and efficiently leverage data to drive decision making and strategy. These duties extend to fundraising activities for special audiences, such as parents, friends, faculty and staff, of the university, as they arise. Our ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree, a minimum of three years related experience and possess the following skills and abilities:

  • Proven ability to manage time well
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Maturity & personal integrity
  • Must have current driver’s license and good driving record

A Master’s degree and five years of related experience are preferred. Baylor also prefers the following:

  • Experience in higher education

Note: No equivalency of education and experience will be accepted in lieu of the degree requirement.

What You Will Do:

  • Develop key relations to expand funding bases and ensure targets of University are met
  • Support development opportunities through the formation of creative content
  • Create goals and objectives to increase fundraising
  • Analyze and prepare budget processes; prepare reports as needed
  • Maintain all databases and records
  • Plan and execute special events to increase giving
  • Supervise daily operations of assigned department
  • Provide leadership and contribute with special projects
  • Manage daily correspondence
  • Ensure regulatory compliance with policies and procedures
  • Perform all other duties as assigned to support Baylor’s mission
  • Ability to comply with University policies
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance
