Associate Director of Annual Giving

Connecticut College seeks an ambitious, energetic professional to join a successful Annual Giving team in its department of Advancement. The Associate Director of Annual Giving will play a critical role in the program’s efforts to increase annual unrestricted giving from alumni by managing the Classes of 2005-1991, including 15th, 20th, 25th Reunion Committees (with a special emphasis on the 25th Reunion).

The Associate Director of Annual Giving will coordinate with the Director of Annual Giving to implement the planning, promotion and execution of the Connecticut College Giving Day initiative. In addition to setting the challenge parameters, s/he will determine the participation and dollar goals as well as the email, direct mail, and phone communication schedule for the challenge.

S/he will direct the Camel Athletics fundraising program and work with leadership in the Athletics Department to segment individual team appeals and email communications to increase unrestricted support for Camel Athletics as well as individual teams.

The Associate Director of Annual Giving will also be responsible for managing a pool of 100 leadership annual giving prospects and conducting the solicitation and stewardship of unrestricted gifts ($1,911+) to the Connecticut College Fund from these alumni, parents, and friends.

Bachelor’s degree with 3 – 5 years of relevant work experience preferred; fundraising, preferably in higher education preferred; excellent interpersonal, analytical, organizational and leadership skills; outstanding verbal and written communication skills; ability to independently initiate, organize, and follow through with program plans in required. Other requirements include: strong computer skills, willingness to learn reporting software, ability to analyze and interpret data in order to develop effective solicitation and engagement strategies. Willingness to travel both locally and nationally as well as work evening and weekend hours as needed.
