Associate Director of Annual Leadership Giving
Loyola Marymount University is seeking an Associate Director of Annual Leadership Giving. The Associate Director of Annual Leadership Giving is responsible for providing leadership, strategic direction for leadership giving, cultivation and donor stewardship. The Associate Director will develop and implement a comprehensive development program to raise and grow leadership giving ($1,000 – $25,000) from alumni, parents, and friends of LMU. Maintain and grow existing relationships with volunteers and establish new relationships in order to increase participation in various fundraising and volunteer programs.
Additional responsibilities include: supervising two or more Assistant Directors of Annual Leadership Giving; oversee the planning and execution of annual stewardship events and collateral for the Annual Leadership Donor program; coordinate Communications, Special Events and Development Services and Donor Relations surrounding university policies and procedures; and partner with the major gift officers in University Relations to fully integrate all development efforts and ensure the upward movement of prospects and donors across schools, colleges, programs, and campus initiatives.

We seek candidates with typically a Bachelor’s degree or related field or equivalent experience. Incumbent will be expected to continue upgrading knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to keep abreast of policy changes. Minimum 5 years direct or related fundraising / solicitation experience in progressively responsible positions, preferably in a higher education setting. Well-developed administrative, organizational and leadership skills and demonstrated success in program development and staff management is required. We are seeking candidates with a track record that demonstrates solid fundraising results and success soliciting and closing leadership gifts in the $1,000 to $25,000 range. Sales, public relations or relevant professional experience is helpful. Demonstrated knowledge in the areas of: Fundraising, volunteer management, event production, communication, and office systems. The Associate Director will perform complex and concurrent secretarial tasks involving independent judgment and requiring speed and accuracy; diplomacy balanced with assertiveness in supervising a diverse staff; and maintaining confidential information. Exemplary communication skills (both written and oral) along with demonstrated computer competency is a must.
