The Assistant Director of the Johnson Annual Fund helps develop and implement strategies to support increasing revenue and participation for the Johnson Annual Fund. The Assistant Director will work collaboratively with the Annual Fund team on solicitations, communications, report generation and volunteer management.

The Assistant Director will serve as the primary manager of the Class Agent Program, working to increase alumni participation and engagement by developing a sustainable model of peer-to-peer communication and solicitation. The Assistant Director will recruit, train and manage class volunteers while establishing clear goals and measures, and will implement all class communications.

The Assistant Director will also have an important role in data management and analysis, working in tandem with the Director of the Johnson Annual Fund to generate key reports and metrics to analyze results and opportunities supporting Annual Fund initiatives. Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree 1-3 years of experience in fundraising, volunteer management, and/or public relations/marketing.  Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office products.  Database management experience and customer service skills required.  Must have strong interpersonal skills and effective communication skills, both written and oral.  Ability to work with individuals from across the university, as well as with key alumni, volunteers and executive staff.  Demonstrated ability to work independently.  Able to exercise strong judgement and conduct oneself in a professional and ethical manner.  Must be able to work with highly sensitive and confidential information.  Must be well-organized, detail-oriented, team-player, and possess the ability to multi-task and adapt to changes with a high level of competency and professionalism.  Ability to work some evenings and weekends, and participate in occasional regional travel.

Preferred Qualifications:

Basic understanding of the concepts and principles of nurturing fundraising, campaign and/or project fundraising, and speculative fundraising is beneficial; fundraising experience in a university setting.  Experience with Peoplesoft, Brio and Tableau database applications.  Knowledge of the University’s priorities and its accounting and financial processes are beneficial; the ability to learn and understand these priorities and processes is required.
