Position Description:

California State University, Long Beach is seeking a dynamic, experienced annual giving professional to oversee our call center, direct mail and other outreach efforts. Located just 3 miles from world-class beaches and 2 hours from mountain and desert resorts, CSU Long Beach is a flagship campus in the 23-campus California State University. With more than 37,000 students and nearly 300,000 alumni, The Beach is a diverse, student-centered university. The Assistant Director of Annual Giving will lead a team of professionals and students to engage alumni and parents via traditional and non-traditional annual giving methods. Our program includes a 20+ station call center, direct mail, the Beach-funder crowd funding platform, and e-giving. CSU Long Beach has just completed a $238 million campaign and now seeks a new leader to reinvigorate our long-standing annual giving program. Join us at The Beach!

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Knowledge of fundraising best practices. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interface professionally with alumni, parents, administrators, faculty, and students. Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize simultaneously. Exceptional writing and communication skills. Knowledge of Ruffalo NL’s CampusCall system preferable. Ability to learn Ellucian’s Advance WEB CRM Database.

Ability to communicate with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community. Ability to follow all university policies, procedures, and guidelines including but not limited to safety, civility, information security, and non-discrimination policies and procedures. Ability to contribute to a positive university experience for each and every student, and assist in achieving the university’s commitment to a “vision of excellence.”

Education and Experience:

Equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in a related field and three years of related experience required. Must have one year of experience working in a call center. Development experience at an institution of higher education strongly preferred.

Salary

The salary range for this classification is $3,897 to $6,142 per month. Starting salary may be set as high as $5,581 per month based on education, skills and experience.
