Newly created professional position available immediately on Ball State’s annual giving team with opportunity for professional development and skills enhancement.

Responsibilities: Responsible for the strategy and execution of mail, phone and electronic solicitations in order to increase annual fundraising support to the university. Specific initiatives include The Ball State Fund, Parents Annual Fund, an employee giving campaign and collegiate based support. The Senior Director will develop and implement an annual giving business plan each year; supervise and mentor approximately three other staff members, and serve on the annual giving leadership team.

Minimum Qualifications: bachelor’s degree; Minimum of three years in non-profit or higher education fundraising with specific experience in direct mail, telemarketing, and/or electronic solicitations. Strong creative thinking and conceptualization skills; Proven capability of working with data analytics and the ability to present analyses and information, speak about its interpretation, and make recommendations; Exceptional communication skills, attention to detail, and an ability to engage and work with diverse groups of people in an open and respectful way; Supervisory experience; Well-developed organizational and leadership skills and the ability to meet multiple deadlines; Demonstrated ability to devise and implement effective strategies to achieve measurable results.

Preferred qualifications: master’s degree; Minimum of five years in non-profit or higher education fundraising with specific experience in direct mail, telemarketing, and/or electronic fundraising. Experience with parent fundraising and/or employee giving campaigns; Experience with implementing crowdfunding campaigns; Knowledge of trends in student giving and philanthropy education; Understanding and knowledge of the dynamics of fundraising in higher education; Experience in writing copy for higher education fundraising; Knowledge of Blackbaud fundraising products; Ability to balance multiple tasks and respond calmly under pressure; Team player with the ability to work independently; Willingness to travel and work evenings and weekends, as necessary.
