Senior Director of Annual Giving

We are currently seeking a Senior Director of Annual Giving to join our dynamic team. The Senior Director of Annual Giving is responsible for leading and strengthening annual giving efforts at the University of Cincinnati. Will provide strategic direction, execution and management of a comprehensive annual giving program, including the coordination and oversight of supporting initiatives which include leadership annual giving, direct mail, e-solicitation, Faculty & Staff Campaign, Telefund, urgency campaigns, social media and peer-to-peer solicitations. This position will be responsible for the engagement of key segments of our constituients including students, recent graduates/young alumni, and Faculty & Staff.
Ideal candidates will have:
- Bachelor’s degree required with 7-10 years of experience in fundraising/annual giving, managerial, leadership and supervisory skills, or advanced degree with 5-7 years of experience.
- Demonstrated organizational and communication skills as well as ability to work with and motivate other development professionals and volunteers through communication, modeling appropriate behavior, optimism and high achievement.
- Proven analytical and fundraising skills with the ability to recognize opportunities, identify critical, high pay-off activities and prioritize them to attain goals.
- Ability and interest in managing, developing, motivating, and mentoring staff.
- Excellent skill and understanding of computer and constituent software, database management, gift processing required.
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment to work cooperatively to achieve common goals; support cooperation, collaboration and the sharing of information while providing the best quality product available and continuously upgrade standards to maintain quality, in all areas of responsibility
- Openness to new ideas and their implementation. Ability to react and adapt to changing situations appropriately.
- Ability to listen carefully to and understand customers’ needs, both internally and externally, and proactively respond to those needs in a consistent and timely manner.
- Willingness and ability to work nights and weekends, and occasional travel as required.
