Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree.  One year of experience with annual giving and/or marketing direct mail solicitation.  Must have excellent communication skills, strong proficiency in writing, editing and proofreading. Must be highly motivated, results-oriented, creative and analytical. Strong organization and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, establish priorities and meet deadlines with impeccable attention to detail. High level of professionalism and interpersonal skills, ability to work collaboratively with team and interact positively with the university’s internal and external constituents.  Proficiency with Microsoft Office and large constituent database applications. Must be able to exercise discretion and independent judgment, maintain confidentiality and act upon decisions within scope of delegated authority. Ability to thrive and succeed in a fast-paced, team work environment.  Security sensitive position – must pass a criminal history record check before an offer will be made.

Preferred Requirements:

Degree in communications, journalism, marketing or related discipline.  Three years of annual giving experience within a college, university or other major institution.

Responsibilities:

The Coordinator of Annual Giving’s primary purpose is to: 1) secure annual gifts to support university priorities; 2) increase the number and percentage of alumni donors and 3) build a strong, loyal donor base from which to cultivate major and planned gifts. The Coordinator will develop and implement an annual giving program including: direct mailings, tele-fund, e-solicitations and constituent giving programs for alumni, students, faculty and staff. Assist the Office of Development and Alumni Relations to plan and implement strategies, outreach activities and networking events to increase overall alumni engagement and participation in annual giving. To ensure future growth in annual giving, the coordinator will be responsible for developing and implementing a young alumni giving program utilizing multi-media platforms in collaboration with the Coordinator of University Advancement Communications.  Develop and implement an annual giving program which includes, but is not limited to: solicitations via direct mailings, telefund, e-solicitations, alumni programs, young alumni giving, faculty/staff giving and student giving programs within standards set by the Office of University Advancement. Work in conjunction with alumni relations staff to implement alumni outreach activities to encourage alumni to give annually to UHCL. Assist with the development and preparation of acknowledgments, newsletters, brochures, website pages, social media posts, reports, correspondences and solicitation materials. Participate in University Advancement events as needed. Provide guidance, as needed, to volunteers involved in alumni engagement and/or fundraising activities..
