We are hiring an Assistant Director of Annual Giving to join our team. The Assistant Director is an integral member of the University’s annual giving team, helping secure over 10,000 donors annually through a multi-channel mass solicitation and stewardship strategy. In this role, you will be responsible for the oversight of university crowdfunding and online giving strategies, including but not limited to Giving Tuesday and other day-of-giving fundraising efforts. You will partner closely with other members of the annual giving team to plan and execute a strategic, multi-channel annual solicitation and stewardship plan focused on pipeline development through donor acquisition, renewal, and retention.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Plans and executes Creighton University’s Giving Day, which generates over $900,000 annually: develops a master plan, oversees the digital fundraising platform, creates and manages a volunteer ambassador program, manages the budget, and serves as lead for Giving Day’s cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies. Includes oversight of Giving Day’s campus and regional events.
  • Create and implement crowdfunding programs and projects in partnership with faculty, staff, deans and program managers to acquire, renew, and retain annual donors.  Manage the crowdfunding platform, contract, and vendor relationship, ensuring full optimization of platform functionality.
  • Oversee online fundraising strategies, including email solicitations and management of 18+ online giving forms.
  • Collaborate with the Annual Giving and Donor Relations team to plan and execute a comprehensive engagement and communications strategy with the goals of increasing alumni participation and donor retention while contributing to the principal and planned gift pipeline.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: 

  • Resourceful, critical thinker who uses sound judgement to solve problems, adapt to rapidly changing situations, and manage multiple complex projects from start to finish.
  • Experience establishing priorities, exercising initiative, working proactively, and accepting responsibility for meeting deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to articulate the mission and fundraising goals of the University and make persuasive oral presentations.
  • Analytical thinker who uses quantitative and qualitative metrics to make data-informed decisions.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and collaboratively with academic and administrative leaders to conceive and implement innovative ideas.
  • Experience recruiting, training, and managing volunteers strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of development/fundraising concepts preferred.
  • Knowledge of digital marketing and communications concepts preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office required.
  • Experience working in a CRM or other relational databases such as Advance Web, Salesforce or Raiser’s Edge preferred
  • Familiarity with online giving/crowdfunding platforms, such as Anthology, Graduway, GiveCampus, or ScaleFunder, preferred.

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Business, or other related field required
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in fundraising, annual giving, development or equivalent experience
