Associate Director of Annual Giving
The Associate Director of Annual Giving is a front-line fundraising position focused on leadership annual giving opportunities among current parents and young alumni. The Associate Director works with Alumni Engagement, Student Affairs and other campus partners to engage parents and cultivate leadership annual giving donors that have been identified with capacity up to $99,000. Young alumni donors are cultivated by the Associate Director in cooperation with Alumni Engagement and other division partners, working on a graduated leadership ask structure that ranges from $100-$2,000.
- Identify, cultivate, solicit and steward an active portfolio of 100 parent prospects for gifts mainly in the $2,000-$10,000 range annually.
- Identify, cultivate, solicit and steward an active portfolio of 100 leadership annual giving prospects for gifts mainly in the $2,000-$10,000 range.
- In coordination and under the leadership of the Director of Annual Giving, build a comprehensive and robust engaged parents’ group with the primary outreach to include increasing support to student-focused areas of greatest need, including but not limited to scholarships, athletics and career-driven initiatives. Plan productive strategies for this group which may include training and management of volunteers to solicit a targeted group of parents for leadership or near-leadership levels of giving.
- Actively develop and lead parent and young alumni constituency and programs focused on increasing, retaining and acquiring new donors through special events including the Day of Giving, Giving Tuesday and other DePauw traditions.
- Serve as staff liaison for the GOLD Alumni Board development committee, working directly to target participatory and leadership gifts of those in the 1-10th years.
- Participate in the collaborative process of the strategic planning for the overall Annual Giving operating plan.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s Degree (four-year college or university) required.
Experience: Minimum of three years of progressive development or related experience, with experience managing programs required.
Communication/Language: Intermediate: Ability to read and interpret documents. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Math Ability: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Computer Skills: Knowledge of database management systems, CRM, and Microsoft Office products, including Excel. Ability and desire to frequently learn new products related to the role is required.
Certificates & Licenses: CFRE desirable
Other Requirements:
- A strong understanding of the mission of liberal arts institutions.
- Travel from campus, as needed, to conduct solicitations, or to recruit volunteer leaders for assigned programs.
- Normal work responsibilities include time outside of normal office hours, some evenings and weekends.
