Nature & Purpose of Position
Manages the Engagement Center which supports the University’s Annual Fund initiative. Plans and implements strategies to generate annual support from alumni, parents, and friends through various fundraising programs.

Primary Responsibilities
Manages programs to generate annual engagement and annual giving support from alumni, parents, students, and friends through various programs and initiatives including, but not limited to: telephone solicitation initiative, Senior Class Legacy program, Young Alumni program, Student Giving program, and the SHSU Giving social media platforms. Recruits, hires, trains, supervises, manages, motivates, and evaluates a staff of 15-20 student employees. Coordinates the development of program strategies, scripts, and training materials. Compiles and analyzes statistical data and prepares reports for higher level management. Manages all aspects of the collection of annual fund pledges. Must be willing to make solicitation and follow-up collection calls. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Other Specifications
Strong planning and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to be trained in fund-raising and constituent management software and generate documents from similar databases. Experience with automated call software preferred. Proficiency with current office technology including Microsoft Word and Excel.

Must be willing to work a flexible schedule during telephone solicitation seasons. Must be willing to work occasional evening and weekend hours. The Engagement Center operates Sunday – Thursday, 6pm – 9pm. During “non-calling” times, the normal work hours will be Monday – Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Educational & Experience Requirement
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, communications, or related field. Two years of experience in fund-raising, marketing, sales, customer relations, communications, event planning, social media, or a related field.
