Young Alumni Philanthropy and Engagement Officer
Wofford College invites applications for a young alumni engagement officer (YAEO). The YAEO works collaboratively with the Annual Giving and Alumni Office teams. The YAEO is responsible for increasing giving to and engagement with Wofford in the young alumni population. The position will require some nights, weekends, and travel. The YAEO reports to the associate vice president for advancement.
Expectations:
Young Alumni Engagement
- Identify, create and implement pathways to increase engagement with Wofford through off- and on-campus alumni events, athletics, college departments, the Career Center, digitally, and through volunteer opportunities.
- Identify and utilize preferred ways of communication.
- Encourage young alumni to attend regional alumni events.
- Attend regional and on-campus alumni events and facilitate a robust experience for the young alumni in attendance
Philanthropic Engagement
- Solicit annual gifts and maintain a portfolio of donors who have potential to be major gift donors/prospects, leadership annual gift donors/prospects, or board pipeline prospects.
- Create strategies to increase young alumni giving overall.
- Lead the strategy for young alumni giving on A Day for Wofford.
- Assist the Alumni Office in recruiting volunteers, encouraging attendance and soliciting reunion gifts for the 5- and 10-year reunions.
Social Media Engagement
- Effectively collect current contact information for this mobile population.
- Provide content and encourage participation in the college’s social media accounts.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required, Wofford alumnus preferred.
- The ideal candidate is a personable and effective communicator, manages time and tasks efficiently, can interact with alumni from many backgrounds with ease, and represents Wofford with integrity.
- Experience in sales, event planning, social media management or volunteer management preferred.
