The University of Illinois Foundation (Foundation) is the official fundraising and private gift-receiving organization of the University of Illinois (University).  It works closely with alumni and friends, faculty and staff, corporations, and foundations, as well as campus development professionals to create fundraising programs and opportunities that benefit the University.

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

Manages the processes, programs, and staff of the University of Illinois Foundation’s engagement centers, which conduct highly engaging and strategic solicitation, stewardship, cultivation, and event updates on behalf of University of Illinois.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manages the operations of the Foundation’s 100+ person engagement centers on behalf of the university’s advancement community, including supervision of the management team that oversees the daily processes and Student Development Representatives.
  • Strategically builds solicitation and communication campaigns in collaboration with the Directors of Annual Giving from each university. Builds strong lines of communication with the many partners to the work of the Engagement Center.
  • Utilizes and becomes the resident expert on the use of the Engagement Centers’ software package, Vanilla Soft. Previous experience is not necessary and training and continuing education will be provided and expected.
  • Engages and builds rapport with Student Development Representatives and offers support for Management Staff during shifts. Some evening hours are required, as well as occasional weekend hours. Engagement Centers are currently located on the campuses of UIC and UIUC and travel will be necessary.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Supervisory experience required.
  • Applicants must possess excellent motivational, communicative and supervisory skills.
  • Computer proficiency is required.
  • Enthusiastic leadership, interpersonal skills and the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, set priorities, and meet short deadlines are also necessary.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Preference given to candidates with previous experience in advancement, sales/training, or customer service.
  • Database or software management experience are preferred.
