Coordinator of Donor Relations

The Coordinator of Donor Relations supports stewardship and recognition programs, fostering a culture of appreciation, recognition and ongoing engagement of Fort Lewis College Foundation’s generous donors. Reporting to the Director of Outreach and Donor Relations, this person will develop and implement impactful donor stewardship efforts and consistent gift documentation. They will also create and support processes that increase transparency and ease for utilizing donations following donor intent while maximizing impact for Fort Lewis College.

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent experience;
  • At least 2 years of experience in operations, professional writing, communication/public relations, fundraising, marketing/sales, or a related field;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; and
  • Experience with project management.

  • Intermediate skills with computers & CRMs or customer-focused databases

Major Responsibilities: 

Donor Recognition and Stewardship

  • Support communications, branding and events that celebrate and grow FLC Foundation giving societies and scholarship support
  • Support project management and development of FLC Foundation stewardship reports and letters
  • Donor solicitation communications project management
  • Support the Director of Outreach and Donor Relations in coordinating annual giving and planned giving omni-channel campaigns and FLC Giving Day
  • Support ongoing review and updates to the FLC Foundation and Advancement webpages to highlight giving priorities, impact and ‘Ways to Give’

Oversee FLC Foundation Funds and Gift Documentation Processes

  • Following best practices, develop and maintain FLC Foundation gift agreements and fund establishment forms and roll out processes
  • Review existing FLC Foundation funds and gift agreement documents to update outdated language and work with Gift Officers and donors to update outdated gift agreements
  • Support PaperSave launch in organizing electronic and hard files and forms related to donor records and gift documents and exercise judgment on the confidentiality of files

Scholarships

  • Create policies and procedures for all aspects relating to scholarship gift agreement documentation and updates in coordination with the Office of Financial Aid and Awards Management software.
  • Oversee the implementation of Scholarship recipient profiles and thank you letter protocols
  • Work with donors to complete or renew annual scholarship gift pledge payments

Other Required Duties

  • Demonstrates a commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and student success, as well as working with broadly diverse communities
  • Maintains knowledge and awareness of digital accessibility including the American with Disabilities Act and Section 508.
  • Produces and remediates digitally accessible materials in accordance with FLC standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Compensation:

Salary is $45,000 to $50,000,  plus a comprehensive benefits package.
