The University of Tennessee, Knoxville, Office of Advancement Engagement Center for UT Foundation, is seeking an Assistant Director of Annual Giving to join our team.  The Assistant Director is responsible for executing and managing the Engagement Center Program, in coordination with other members of the annual giving team. This position will recruit, hire, train, manage, motivate, and coach the performance of up to six student managers and 60 student employees to secure over $400,000 and 4,000 donors for UT Knoxville colleges, units, and programs. This position will provide support in the following areas:

  • Optimize Student Outreach – monitor interactions with prospects to provide feedback and create meaningful experiences for alumni & donors to ensure progress towards goals.
  • Program Management & Strategy – Analyzing calling statistics and performance reports to strategize and determine caller assignments, set nightly fundraising goals, and identify areas of improvement.
  • Administrative/Other – Oversee hiring paperwork process for students, assisting the Engagement Center assistant with management of the students, intern, & events, and provide monthly performance reports.

Required Qualifications:  A bachelor’s degree with 3+ years of related experience that includes a combination of working in a call center environment, telemarketing, sales, and customer service is required or a master’s and 1 year of experience is acceptable. Previous supervisory experience is necessary. Supervising student workers, volunteers, and/or interns is preferred. Candidates must have some experience in automated calling software, training, and supervising employees. Knowledge of basic computer operation systems and programs such as Microsoft Office is necessary. Candidate must also have availability to work nights and weekends. Excellent interpersonal, communications (written & verbally), and organizational skills are required. Knowledge of RNL Engage and a major CRM platform preferred.
