Working with the major and annual gifts team to identify, solicit, and steward individuals for annual fund gifts of any size for programmatic support.  Position plays a key role in building BMC’s donor base by garnering new donors and upgrading existing donors with personalized cultivation and stewardship.

Essential Responsibilities/Duties: 

  • Support annual fund focusing on soliciting and stewarding prospects making gifts up to $25,000 with a primary focus on donors making gifts under $1,000
  • Assist in development and management of annual giving society benefits
  • Assist in creation & disbursement of print and digital solicitations and acknowledgments from the annual fund
  • Manage a Text2Give platform for annual giving events (Giving Tuesday, Doctor’s Week, Nurse’s Week, etc)
  • Analyze daily gift reports to identify prospects that may move out of annual fund into gift officer’s portfolios
  • Support Grateful Patient program by identifying annual fund level prospects and helping develop segment criteria
  • Manage stewardship opportunities for Grateful Patients (thank-a-thons for providers, thank you notes from patients to providers, etc)
  • Review event attendance and donor database to identify donors with the potential to be upper-level annual fund donors; develop and implement strategies to engage them and encourage unrestricted annual giving.
  • Develop and manage annual staff giving campaign through payroll deduction and stewardship of these donors
  • Manage creation and tracking of appeal codes for each solicitation and compile analysis of each effort

Education: 

Bachelor’s degree required.

Experience: 

2+ years in a development office experience.  Experience in records and data management preferred.

Knowledge and Skills Required: 

  • Experience with data management systems strongly preferred, preferably the Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge NXT system
  • Experience using Microsoft Windows and MS Office, with strong spreadsheet still preferred (filtering, sorting, pivoting, vlookups, concatenate, etc.)
  • Exceptional organizational, analytical and project management skills with ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and responsibilities
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills
  • A customer service orientation: provide timely response to requests for information, service, and assistance
  • Ability to handle confidential and delicate information
  • Ability to produce quality work under tight deadlines
  • Ability to work with numerous internal clients and handle a multitude of tasks
  • Strong oral and written communications skills.
