Development Specialist
Job Description:
Texas development is seeking a new member of the Annual Giving Programs team. This individual will join a growing team looking to be the gold standard in philanthropy and annual giving. This individual will work in collaboration with the director of the annual giving team to strategically manage the texting and tele-fundraising program at The University of Texas at Austin for alumni, friends and parents and guide strategy and logistics for time-limited fundraising campaigns.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage day-to-day operations of the donor engagement center in coordination with the director of annual giving and the annual giving programs team, outside vendor, Ruffalo CODY and CSU clients.
- Assist in preparation and distribution of all collateral materials, including scripts, placemats, emails, acknowledgement letters and reminder letters while using overall annual giving and Texas Development messaging.
- Collaborate with VIP IT team and the gift operations team to ensure texting and phone processes are set up and functioning. Facilitate communication between data teams at UT and Ruffalo CODY to institute procedures for data loads, queries, prospect analysis, etc.
- Monitor and analyze results to provide strategy changes and areas for testing to increase participation and revenue. Perform strategic analysis of datasets and calling pools in coordination with VIP IT team, Ruffalo CODY and annual giving team.
- Develop a year-long multi-channel approach utilizing and incorporating texting into the annual giving programs year long strategic calendar utilizing best practices.
- Act as texting expert for UT and develop a best in class texting program for Texas Development.
- Manage the university’s secondary texting platform, and run specific CSU testing of various texting campaigns throughout the year.
- Provide support to the HornRaiser platform as needed, as well as support for giving day, 40 Hours for the Forty Acres, twice a year.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree and at least one year of professional experience in nonprofit or higher education advancement/development. Experience working with students in a higher education setting. Experience working with phone or texting campaigns. Candidate needs good communication skills, organization, and attention to detail. Ability to prioritize, manage and organize multiple projects amid shifting priorities. Ability to work nontraditional hours regularly. Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Preferred Qualifications:
More than the required years of experience. Knowledge of higher education fundraising and Texas’ philanthropy. Experience with direct marketing channels including phone, and texting. Experience with campus call, and/or thru text or other call or texting software. Experience running a call center or texting campaigns for higher education.
Salary Range: $52,500
