Associate Director, Domestic Outreach, Alumni Association (MITAA), to coordinate and implement MITAA programs in person and virtually for and with alumni, but also parents, friends, and students residing within specific geographic areas or with specific shared interests.  Will identify, enlist, and cultivate alumni volunteers/parents/friends/students; implement programs best suited for individual cities/interests; develop close working relationships with volunteer leaders and donors; develop a vigorous, self-renewing volunteer leadership organization throughout assigned region; collaborate with community managers to offer groups organized by shared interest, e.g. ethnicity, gender, or other affinity groups, in the delivery of regional/virtual programming; and serve as a regional expert on alumni, venues, etc., and connector/catalyst between constituencies.

Job Requirements:

Required: 

  • bachelor’s degree;
  • three years’ alumni relations, annual giving, marketing, public relations, or volunteer leadership development experience in a university/nonprofit setting;
  • history of successfully coordinating programs across multiple constituency groups;
  • strong presentation skills and ability to develop and deliver effective training sessions; excellent organizational, analytical, interpersonal, and written and oral communication skills;
  • demonstrated success determining goals, setting priorities, and managing multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines in a fast-paced and service-oriented environment;
  • initiative;
  • attention to detail, quality, and accuracy; proactive approach to work and problem solving;
  • proficiency with PCs and standard applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, FileMaker, and PowerPoint;
  • and expertise with or willingness to learn Encompass and social media platforms, e.g., LinkedIn, Slack, and Facebook.
  • Must be able to recruit, motivate, train, and manage volunteers;
  • establish effective working relationships with a variety of constituents; and collaborate on teams.

Preferred: 

  • data analysis, budgeting, marketing, and/or public relations skills;
  • and knowledge of Advance and web presentation software, e.g., Zoom and WebEx.

Must be willing and able to travel and work evenings and weekends.

This position will be hybrid, with a combination of on-campus and remote work.
