Description
Saint Anselm College, a private, liberal arts college in the Benedictine tradition, is seeking a full-time, year-round Assistant Director of Annual Giving. We are seeking an organized, creative and enthusiastic supporter of undergraduate liberal arts education in the Catholic, Benedictine tradition. Under the supervision of the Assistant Vice President of Annual Giving, the Assistant Director of Annual Giving coordinates and carries out the cultivation and solicitation of unrestricted annual fund dollars through the personal solicitation of alumni, parents and friends of the college, concentrating on Young Alumni membership in the Saint Anselm College President’s Society. The Assistant Director will manage the student phonathon; including recruiting, training, scheduling and managing student callers, as well as preparing and organizing all necessary materials. In addition, the Assistant Director will be responsible for fostering a culture of student philanthropy on-campus through the Senior Class Gift program.
The qualified candidate will manage young alumni participation initiatives, recruit and work with alumni volunteers and class agents, and work closely with the Alumni Office staff. The Assistant Director will assist with annual fund e-solicitations, digital fundraising campaigns and social media communication strategies.
A creative entrepreneurial approach will be needed to effectively cultivate and solicit donors at appropriate levels. In order to increase participation and dollars to The Saint Anselm Fund, the Assistant Director must thrive on soliciting alumni, parents and friends, thereby building relationships involving high level contacts inside and outside the College.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required along with sufficient experience in higher education fundraising or comparable work to quickly assume the role of Assistant Director, Annual Giving.
- Excellent writing, communication and customer relations skills required.
- Ability to ask for contributions and maintain prospect tracking records and reports accurately and efficiently is essential.
- Must be able to deal effectively with and represent the college to a wide range of individuals/groups within and outside the college.
- Availability to work a flexible schedule as needed for initial phonathon program on-boarding and supervision of program (1 to 2 nights: Mon – Thurs. 6-8:00 p.m.).
- The successful candidate will be an energetic and effective communicator with strong interpersonal skills.
