Associate Director, Development
Position Summary:
The associate director for development for the College of Engineering is responsible for engaging alumni and friends and building meaningful relationships that lead to investment in college priorities. He/she manages a portfolio of potential donors as well as other college/unit efforts including annual giving efforts and fundraising for Engineering EXPO. He/she is a key member of the college fundraising team and works collaboratively to achieve fundraising goals for the College of Engineering.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree
- 2 years full-time professional experience in fundraising or related areas
- Experience working in an environment dependent on developing and maintaining relationships
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience, education or working knowledge of the colleges disciplines
- Experience with volunteer boards and committees
- Demonstrated knowledge of marketing and public relations experience
- Experience working with corporations on partnerships or sponsorships
- Demonstrated excellent writing and communication skills
- Possess effective organizational skills
- Familiarity with database computer systems and applications, preferably with customer relationship management systems
- Knowledge of principles and techniques of fundraising, preferably in higher education
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:
- Willingness to travel and work odd hours and weekends
