Position Summary:

The position provides essential services to the Division of Advancement to aid in fundraising efforts, specifically through annual giving.

The position is responsible for aiding the Director of Annual Giving in designing comprehensive annual giving marketing plans. This position is responsible for the development and implementation of campaigns through phone, text, mail, email, and digital media. The position will also manage a small portfolio of prospects capable of making leadership annual gifts ($1,000+) to the university, particularly for those with unrestricted giving interests.

The position is responsible for developing and implementing plans to meet and increase annual giving revenue and participation goals from WCU constituents, with an emphasis on the phonathon (Chatty Cats). The position is responsible for the recruitment, hiring, training and management of student callers and their fundraising activities, which will require evenings and occasional weekends. The position is responsible for the creation of all phonathon related marketing materials; coordinating e-solicitations, entering and updating constituent information into Raiser’s Edge, and management of the Guided Fundraising platform. The position is also responsible for working with phonathon third party vendors in coordination with the Director of Annual Giving.

The position will assist in the day-to-day annual giving operation, including fielding donor questions via phone and email, and working closely with advancement services to ensure the gift process runs smoothly, and pulling reports from Raiser’s Edge.

The position will work collaboratively with other members of the advancement staff to develop and implement messaging, marketing materials, and technologies to secure support from alumni, parents, and friends to achieve divisional goals for all segments. This position will attend all relevant staff meeting and other divisional or University meetings as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree and working knowledge of computers, database management, and Microsoft Office.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in marketing, communications, or fundraising in a higher education institution. Experience with Blackbaud products and services.
