Job Description

The school currently has an opening for an Associate Director of Development. This person will be tasked with building a robust pipeline of friends of the hospital and alumni to assist in supporting Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine. This person will strengthen and steward current relationships with facility, alumni and other potential sources of philanthropic support. The Associate Director will network to bring in new prospective donors. In this role you will partner with Gift Planning and Corporate and Foundation Relations to respond to planned giving opportunities and corporate and/or foundation opportunities for giving.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Minimum 5-7 years of extensive experience in philanthropy and
• Proven track record of structuring proposals and securing major gifts
• Advanced interpersonal and relationship building skills
• BA/BS Degree- or equivalent years of relevant experience
• Valid US Driver’s License
• Microsoft Office and complex databases
• Minimum 1 week of travel per month/some nights and weekends

Preferred Experience

• Excellent writing skills
• Familiarity with planned giving vehicles
• Education or health care background
• Ability to work independently as well as a part of team
• Ability to think ahead and be a problem solver
