The Director of Annual Giving is responsible for overseeing the annual fund as well as managing a small portfolio of major gift prospects at Wayland Academy. Major program responsibilities include but are not limited to: volunteer management, direct mail, class campaigns, and developing annual giving prospects into major giving prospects.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a yearly strategic plan focused on annual giving solicitations from alumni, parents, and faculty.
  • Focus on renewing and upgrading current donors, as well as increasing the overall participation rate of all constituencies through the acquisition of new donors to the Annual Fund using direct mail and online platforms, phonathons, and recruitment and management of volunteer leadership.
  • Oversee the development and execution of all annual fund communications and content
  • Manage the Annual Giving prospect pipeline. Conduct analysis to support data-driven decisions about annual goals and targets.
  • Collaborate with alumni relations team on reunion and other initiatives to increase alumni engagement and leverage alumni relations activities to increase annual giving.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Advancement to integrate Annual Giving and major gift solicitation strategies; serve as a resource for fundraising staff and volunteers.
  • Cultivate new and lapsed donors through personal visits.
  • Develop relationships with small portfolio of 20-30 major gift prospects.
  • Other appropriate duties as requested.

Skills

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines.
  • Demonstrated track record as a self-starter, a creative-thinker, and an action-oriented fundraiser with a sense of urgency and passion for implementing strategies and tactics.
  • Excellent writing, interpersonal, analytical and organizational skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree required and prefer minimum three years fundraising experience.
  • Experience managing an Annual Giving program, preferably at an independent school
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
