Franklin & Marshall College seeks an Assistant Director of Annual Giving to attain individual Franklin & Marshall Fund fundraising goals. The Assistant Director develops and executes effective and innovative programs and communications for engaging undergraduates and alumni in the world of philanthropy and maintaining the connection between alumni and the College in order to enhance their future as volunteers and donors.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work toward monthly goals for donor acquisition and retention, secure funds for the College by identifying, cultivating, soliciting and stewarding alumni, parents and friends who are capable of making BFS-level gifts to the Franklin & Marshall Fund
  • Recruit, train, manage and steward assigned volunteers and groups. Manage assigned budget.
  • Develop and execute programming and communications to meet individual and team alumni participation and FMF dollar goals.
  • Support on and off campus constituent engagement events; Represent College Advancement at events, including evenings and weekends.

Exempt staff generally works at least 40 hours per week, with an additional 30 to 60 minutes per day for a lunch break. Exempt staff are expected to work extra hours whenever necessary to effectively complete assignments.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Must adhere to College privacy expectations and assure proper stewardship of sensitive and confidential data.
  • Ability to work independently and to be a member of an energetic, committed team.
  • Excellent written and oral communication abilities and collaboration skills.
  • Strong organizational and follow-up skills along with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office/Google Suite and willingness to learn College Advancement systems and tools.
  • Must have a genuine interest in/alignment with the College’s mission, alumni, students, current projects, and reputation.
  • The ability and willingness to provide excellent service and to work in a collegial manner with students, faculty, and staff, and other constituencies is essential.
  • Experience in annual giving, alumni relations, volunteer management, event production or nonprofit management preferred.

Because this position requires driving for College business, the successful candidate must possess a U.S. or Canadian driver’s license which has been valid for at least two years, have a driving record that is free from excessive motor vehicle violations within the last three years, and have had no convictions in the last 24 months for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

Additional Information:
