Annual Giving Development Coordinator
Responsibilities
The Annual Giving Development Coordinator will manage the matching gifts program, young alumni solicitation strategies, and support other solicitations strategies to ensure goals are met.
Matching Gifts Program
Oversee that the matching gift software is being used effectively. Create, oversee, and assess targeted matching gift campaigns. Provide a balance system that ensures all donors who searched for matching gifts are either qualified or not. Follow-up with donors who have indicated, or that the software indicates, they work for a matching gift company – including spouses. Provide donors with appropriate information and guidelines to make the match process as effortless as possible. Work with Gift Services and the Office of Advancement Relations to create a digital stewardship report that can then be promoted to donors. Market matching gift opportunities via various outlets, including social media, email campaigns, and annual fund letters.
Young Alumni Giving
Develop and implement a creative and engaging solicitation strategy for young alumni. Increase donor participation among the young alumni population, year-over year. Coordinate with other university and foundation partners to leverage young alumni programs to increase giving amounts and participation. Increase re-occurring gift participation.
Phone Center Supervision
Monitor analytics for all segments to ensure donor count and dollars remain within goal range. Monitor the phone center vendor FTP site and daily reports and notify the directors of Annual Giving, Information Systems, and Gift Processing when issues arise with the reports. Oversee the Phone Center next day pledge reminder program and collateral pieces. Manage the inventory of collateral pieces. Plan the Spring Phone Center Awards Celebration and other special initiatives as they are needed.
Customer Service
Serve as the Annual Giving liaison for stewardship related activities and programming. Serve as the primary contact for all Annual Giving customer service related issues. Address donor and prospect inquiries in a timely and accurate manner.
Department Support
Prepare weekly Annual Giving team meetings, including agenda and minutes. Attend and take minutes at team meetings, and track team responsibilities. Provide back-up support as needed to the Annual Giving team.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree and two years of experience; or a high school diploma/equivalent and experience equal to six years. (Note: post-high school education can substitute for experience at the equivalent rate.)
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office products suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word), or equivalent software.
- Possess a professional demeanor and an ability to effectively represent the Foundation to its constituents.
- Excellent communication skills to include effective and persuasive writing and editing skills, professional public speaking and presentation skills, and interpersonal relationship building skills.
- Ability to facilitate strong communication and working relationships with colleagues, deans, donors, prospective donors and alumni; including letters, reports, data analysis, surveys, work group participation, committee and telephone communications.
- Ability to multi-task while paying close attention to detail.
- A self-starter, comfortable working independently, while maintaining a high quality of work.
- Ability to maintain effective, consistent and constructive communication with the Director of Annual Giving.
- Team work approach and a can-do attitude.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with management of students or volunteers.
- Experience working in a student organization, with students, or young alumni.
- Experience with Black Baud’s CRM Platform or other fundraising information management systems/databases.
- Organizational and administrative/clerical skills.
- Ability to plan, implement, manage and monitor programs.
- Ability to make numerical projections and analyze past and current monetary results.
- Experience in the use of social media, crowdfunding and developing content for the web.
- Ability to work within established budgets.
Pay Plan
This is an A&P (Administrative and Professional) position.
Criminal Background Check
This position requires successful completion of a criminal history background check. The background check will be conducted as authorized and in accordance with University Policy 4-OP-C-7-B11.
