Job Description Summary

The Annual Giving Programs Manager will work in partnership with the Director of Annual Giving to achieve MUSC’s annual fundraising goals by leading a successful call center program and reunion giving program, as well as assisting with the employee giving and direct marketing efforts within the department.

Preferred Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: The annual giving programs manager works independently under general supervision and must possess excellent communication (writing, editing, speaking and listening) skills to effectively carry out the key responsibilities of this position. S/he will be experienced in the use of hardware and software technology, including office equipment (copier, scanner, fax, etc.). Preference will be provided for candidates with a bachelor’s degree with up to three years of campaign management or project management experience, familiarity with Raiser’s Edge and is proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet Explorer and Outlook).

This position works with confidential information and will be subject to the MUSC’s confidentiality policies. Multitasking along with prioritizing tasks/workload to meet timely deadlines in a collaborative team environment is expected for this role.

Duties Performed

Percent of Total Time – 35%

In partnership with the colleges, plan and execute direct mail campaigns. Duties include working with the central development communications team for content and layout, determining appropriate segmentation, requesting and managing data based on the college, working to finalize and proof all materials, track and monitor progress to make appropriate segment changes, and report results.

Percent of Total Time – 25%

Manage day-to-day call center operations working with the vendor to increase fundraising year over year from a combination of alumni, donors, and grateful patients, while feeding the pipeline for all of MUSC development.  Monitor productivity, campaign projections and individual segment goals. Assist the vendor in updating scripts and reference sheets as well as other needed material to ensure appropriate follow-up with target audiences for questions, complaints, compliments relating to the Medical University or specific to the call center.

Percent of Total Time  – 10%

Plan, implement, manage, analyze and evaluate the reunion giving program within colleges; coordinating closely with Alumni Affairs and Major Gifts with regard to volunteers to achieve goals of educating and growing philanthropic support during the reunion.

Percent of Total Time – 10%

Assist in developing and implementing donor stewardship strategies to foster donor renewal, upgrading and acquisition while helping create and feed a development pipeline. Offer input, updates and creation of a first-time donor program.

Percent of Total Time  – 15%

Qualify, solicit, and cultivate faculty and staff to grow leadership level support for employee giving.
