Position Summary:

Annual Giving. Reporting to the Director of Annual Giving, the Annual Giving Coordinator executes various fundraising appeals to increase philanthropic support to Georgia Southern University from alumni, faculty, staff, parents, students, and/or friends. Work schedule occasionally extends beyond 40 hours to evening and weekends.

Essential Functions:

  • Coordinates and executes fundraising appeals through various fundraising channels (direct mail, email, web, etc.) through various tasks including recruiting and managing volunteers, securing lead and/or challenge gifts, planning special events, creating marketing timelines, and writing cases for support.
  • Serves as the first point of contact to Phonathon vendors to ensure donor acquisition, retention, and reactivation goals are met.
  • Ensures the Foundation’s brand and overall marketing and communications strategy is used consistently and effectively through all assigned fundraising appeals.
  • Compiles reports to make program recommendations to the Director and other University Advancement staff, as directed.
  • Assists other University Advancement staff in planning and execution of events, as needed.

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • Three or more years of related work experience

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Effective communication (verbal and written), organization and human relations skills; ability to work well in a diverse environment; proficiency with computer and Microsoft Office Applications software including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases; legally authorized to work in the United States; successful completion of background investigation prior to employment

Previous experience working in higher education fundraising; previous experience executing a direct marketing/response calendar.

Salary Range: $40,200 – $48,544
