Position Summary:
Pomona College seeks a skilled professional who will help advance the College’s mission through supporting the planning and implementation of a comprehensive mid-capacity program that will play an important and vital role in creating a habit of high-level, annual giving among our alumni, parents, and friends. The Associate Director will work in partnership with colleagues in Capital Giving, Parent Engagement and Giving, Community Development & Annual Giving, and other offices throughout Advancement to encourage leadership level support ($5,000-$100,000 annually). A key priority of the Leadership Giving program is to meaningfully contribute to the growth of mid-capacity giving programs including Family Fellows, Champions for Sagehen Athletics, and President’s Council, as well as build a pipeline to major gifts.
This position requires a command of advanced fundraising principles, an enthusiasm for making the ask, a high level of organization, professionalism, and expertise in the tools of annual unrestricted/current-use fundraising.
Qualifications:
Bachelor degree is required or equivalent combination of education and experience. A minimum of three years of professional work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience required with a proven record of accomplishment and taking initiative. Demonstrated fundraising experience at an academic institution is desirable. Relevant corporate, non-profit leadership, or military experience may be substituted for fundraising experience.
