Assistant Director of Annual Giving
Position Summary:
To develop and manage a comprehensive Annual program that will retain positive relationships with graduating students and alumni to encourage their continued financial support of the University and active participation in alumni affairs. In addition the position will be responsible for organizing and directing all aspects of the Annual Fund campaign.
The position reports to the Director of Alumni Relations.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- 50% – The Assistant Director of Annual Giving will develop and implement a comprehensive annual giving plan and calendar.
This will include building a student, parent and faculty and Staff fund and annual fund.
The plan will cover a variety of solicitation methods, including direct mail, e-communications and other creative uses of technology to increase total annual donations and gift revenue from alumni, parents, faculty/staff, friends and other segments. - 25% – Manage the Phonathon Coordinator
- 25% – Work closely with the Marketing and Communication Department to direct a variety of solicitation methods, including direct mail, e-communications and other creative uses of technology to increase total annual donations and gift revenue from alumni, parents, faculty/staff, friends and other segments.
Education and Experience:
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree.
- Experience: # of years: 2-4
- Type of experience: Annual Fund Fundraising
Other Special Requirements (knowledge, skills and abilities):
- Experience in cultivation & segmentation
- Ability to solicit gifts and monitor budgets
- Strong interpersonal & management skills
- Excellent communication & organizational skills
- Ability to take the initiative to proactively build strong relationship with donors
- Some weekends/evenings are required
Physical requirements:
- Overnight travel is required
