Creative Content Manager, Written Communications and Multimedia Production
Job Description:
The Brown University Division of Advancement seeks qualified applicants for the position of Creative Content Manager, Written Communications and Multimedia Production.
The Creative Content Manager serves as chief storyteller for the Brown Annual Fund, creating the environment that will inspire both donors and volunteers. He/she writes content for direct mail and email communications, websites, social media, feature stories, sell sheets, brochures, and advertisements in order to enhance the cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship efforts of the Brown Annual Fund. He/she serves as contributor and proofreader for all direct marketing efforts (including email communications, fundraising challenges, participation campaigns, social media, donor recognition, and student calling) to ensure that all communications are of the highest quality and reflect Brown University’s standards; these communications will reach 100,000 plus alumni, parents, and friends of the University.
The Manager is responsible for executing all stages of media production, from pre-to-post production and leads in-house efforts to capture and editorially craft strategic multimedia messages in support of cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship efforts; these pieces are designed specifically to illustrate donors’ impact, make the case for support, and support the Annual Fund’s mission. Additionally, he/she creates exciting, innovative, engaging content and maximizes the utility of content by repurposing it across multiple platforms, digital channels, and departments.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree required, plus 3 years experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in a higher-education or non-profit setting highly desirable. Fundraising and marketing experience a plus.
- Demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills as well as proofreading ability; must be able to communicate with a varied University constituency.
- Computer proficiency in word processing, including knowledge of Microsoft Word & Excel (required), PowerPoint (required), and familiarity with navigating the internet (required).
- Comfortable working with relational databases like the Advance system
- A minimum of 3 years of experience with digital video, photography, cinematography, and audio production and media distribution applications required.
- Advanced Knowledge of Adobe Premier, Final Cut Studio, and iMovie or corresponding software on the PC required.
- Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop or equivalent graphics software required.
- Knowledge of lettering and animation software (e.g. Adobe After Effects).
- Working knowledge of web publishing and web distribution of video/audio content.
- Working knowledge of Web 2.0 tools such as social networking solutions, iTunes U, wiki software, blogs a plus. Positive and professional attitude; interest in learning new skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and proactively; work effectively in a group and as a member of a project team required.
