Job Description:
Joseph and Florence Mandel Jewish Day School (Mandel JDS), serving early childhood through 8th grades, seeks an energetic, collaborative development professional with an appreciation for the benefits of a Jewish communal day school education to take an already robust development program to the next level. The Development Director is a member of the senior administrative team. A minimum of 4 years of fundraising experience in donor cultivation, solicitation and stewardship, including a proven record with major gift asks, is required. The Development Director provides direction, coordination and leadership to broaden and strengthen all avenues of philanthropic support, including the Annual Fund, endowment and capital initiatives.
Excellent organizational, written and oral communication skills required.
Mandel JDS is at an exciting time in its history. Enrollment has grown each of the past 4 years and now tops 380. Having received a $17,000,000+ endowment gift within the past 18 months and nearing completion of a $1,600,000 gym expansion, the school is starting a major capital campaign. Expanded support services positions including gifted and talented OT, speech, and learning specialists enable one of the largest learning enhancement teams to assist in providing an individualized education that prepares each student to maximize their potential. Mandel JDS is accredited by ISACS, the gold star in private education.
