As the University of Nevada, Las Vegas prepares to enter its next comprehensive campaign, the Development Officer of Annual Giving, is a key member of the Annual Giving team and will focus on providing a first-class philanthropic experience for all donors by leveraging personalized digital engagement to effectively build relationships based on what truly matters to each supporter.

The Development Officer reports to the Director of Annual Giving and will work under the guidance of the Evertrue Advancement Programs Manager. The position will manage a portfolio of approximately 1,000 donors with clear weekly, monthly, and annual goals. The candidate will collaborate with other departments both internally at the university (including Marketing and Communications, Alumni Relations, and Development) and externally, to effectively execute 1:1 outreach campaigns using technology resources including Evertrue’s cloud platform, social media and virtual communications software.

The candidate should be comfortable with making personalized in-person and virtual solicitations, daily use of video, phone, email and use of multiple databases and virtual communication technology is critical to success in this role. This role is critical to helping UNLV achieve its near-term annual giving goals and long-term fundraising objectives and develop qualified major gift referrals. Candidates should be self-motivated and positive professionals, with a team-first optimistic attitude, eager to embody the UNLV spirit and engage alumni and friends at a high velocity in a personalized manner.

It is expected that the Development Officer attends on-campus events, stewardship events and attends community events as a representative of UNLV. There will be some travel involved.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

This position requires a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university as recognized by the United States Department of Education and/or the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) with a minimum of one year of experience in related field.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Major gift development experience, preferably in higher education.
