Position Description

Reporting to the Associate Vice President for Development, the Executive Director, Rice Annual Fund will be responsible for planning, executing, and managing a comprehensive and aggressive program to generate unrestricted annual gifts for Rice University from alumni, parents, faculty/staff, and graduate and undergraduate students. The Executive Director, Rice Annual Fund will manage programmatic activities related to prospecting, cultivating, and soliciting past and current donors to the Rice Annual Fund.

Essential Functions

• Oversees and directs annual giving programs
• Establishes and assesses fund goals
• Sets and monitors the general budget for the team
• Manages annual giving officers and support staff and provides oversight, guidance, strategic advice, training and mentorship
• Manages a portfolio of individual prospects with the potential to make annual and major gifts at leadership levels of $10,000+.
