Donor Experience Officer

Reporting to the Associate Vice Chancellor for Individual Giving, University Programs, the Donor Experience Officer (DXO) is a valued member of the Individual Giving team and a strategic partner for the Dietrich School of Arts & Sciences (DSAS) and the College of General Studies (CGS) development team. The DXO is an energetic, passionate, entrepreneurial, digital-first fundraiser that leverages modern communication tools to express gratitude and ask for philanthropic support with a primary focus on the Dietrich School of Arts & Sciences and the College of General Studies at the University of Pittsburgh.
The work of this position is critically important to developing the major gift, principal gift, and planned giving pipeline DSAS, CGS and Pitt more broadly. The ideal candidate is organized with strong interpersonal skills and a passion for engaging with Pitt’s alumni, parents, friends, faculty and staff through video, social media, digital and in-person connections.
The DXO will manage a large portfolio of donors with the goal of building lasting relationships and creating meaningful experiences through engaging communications and one-on-one interactions. The DXO will connect donors to Pitt through their outreach, with primary focus on DSAS and CGS. They will solicit gifts between $1,000 and $50,000 annually and develop personalized strategies for increasing year-over-year retention of donors. The DXO partners with colleagues across the division of Philanthropic and Alumni Engagement to ensure the success of Pitt Day of Giving, the Chancellor’s Circle recognition society and its events, as well as other engagement opportunities for their portfolio of donors.

Job Summary
Builds partnerships that strengthen existing donor relationships and identifies, cultivates, stewards, and solicits contributions. Facilitates stewardship evaluations and determines corresponding University and prospective interests.
Essential Functions
- Use of phone and computer, verbal, and written communications.
- Ability to attend meetings virtually and/or in person on/off campus.
- Ability to sit/stand at a computer for a full workday.
Hiring Range
$50,000-$55,000
