Associate Director of The Clark Fund

  • Serves as a frontline fundraiser for The Clark Fund, manages an appropriately-sized portfolio of donors to The Clark Fund with the purpose of retention and upgrade through face-to-face solicitation (40%)
  • Develops and implements strategy to steward and cultivate The Clark Fund’s giving societies, Jonas Clark Fellows and 1887 Society, including the creation of stewardship materials, working with the Executive Director to develop a programming and event strategy, and developing a communication strategy tailored to both groups (15%)
  • Assists in the execution and planning for The Clark Fund’s giving days including the Cougar Challenge, GivingTuesday, and future giving days/challenges to be developed by the Associate Director. The Associate Director will manage the print and email solicitation schedule for the efforts as well as the management of solicitations of matching and challenge gifts and will work with other frontline fundraisers to ensure goals for the campaigns are met (10%)
  • Collaborates with the Executive Director on the creation of print appeals and copywriting for direct mail and e-mail solicitation (10%)
  • Collaborates with colleagues managing reunion classes on fundraising and solicitation efforts for class gift (10%)
  • Provides support in tracking and analyzing results and evaluating efficacy of program components (10%)
  • Other duties related to The Clark Fund as assigned (5%)

Requirements:

  • Applicants should have a bachelor’s degree with 2-5 years of experience in fundraising, preferably in higher education.
  • Proven track-record of soliciting gifts for an annual fund
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Possess high ethical standards and an imaginative and energetic approach to annual fundraising.
  • Deadline-driven focus with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously; goal and deadline-oriented, self-motivated to reach departmental initiatives.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment.
  • Experience with Raiser’s Edge or a similar customer relationship management (CRM) platform; proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Prior experience working with and contributing to a diverse workplace with the ability to interact effectively with a broad range of constituents.
