The Director of Annual Giving is responsible for the strategic direction and implementation of the Franklin & Marshall Fund’s efforts to increase the number of alumni donors and unrestricted and restricted annual operating support for the College; serve as important leader in the execution of the College’s plans to more fully integrate our constituent engagement programs and our efforts to increase annual support for the College.

Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for meeting all alumni participation and fundraising financial goals set for annual giving marketing and operations. Oversight and management of all annual giving programs and efforts designed to increase support for Franklin & Marshall and the Franklin & Marshall Fund;
  • Develop and manage an annual operating plan and program budgets; Supervise, motivate and actively contribute to the professional development of department staff. Ensures success of special philanthropic initiatives including by not limited to Raise Our Game athletic fundraising and annual Day of Giving program.
  • Oversee the Franklin & Marshall Fund’s direct mail, personal outreach and digital solicitation programs, and proactively manage the Franklin & Marshall Fund’s strong collaborative relationship with our colleagues in Marketing and
  • Communications; work effectively with other Advancement staff to achieve Division and College goals.
  • Responsibility for leadership annual giving and oversight of the Benjamin Franklin Society, the College’s leadership gift recognition program. In collaboration with other Advancement colleagues the Director will be expected to increase the number of leadership annual donors. Maintains a portfolio of leadership Franklin & Marshall Fund prospects, individually solicits philanthropy support and successfully raises leadership level Franklin & Marshall Fund gifts annually.
  • Organize and support on and off campus constituent engagement events; ensure successful philanthropy activities such as group-based phonathons and student philanthropy activities; represent College Advancement at events, including evenings and weekends.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • 4-7 years of direct experience in higher education fundraising to include management positions of progressive responsibility is required; a proven track record of leading areas and managing operations that meet and exceed financial goals.
  • Intermediate level of proficiency with Google Suite (Docs, Gmail, Sheets, Drive, Slides) and/or Microsoft Office.
  • Ability and willingness to provide excellent service and to work in a collegial manner with students, faculty and staff, and other constituencies is essential.

Preferred Qualifications:

7-10 years of direct experience in higher education fundraising to include management positions of progressive responsibility is required; a proven track record of leading areas and managing operations that meet and exceed financial goals.
