Direct Marketing Coordinator

As a key member of the annual & special gifts (ASG) team, you will assist in the execution of solicitation and communication materials that complement, support, and promote the work of the Iowa State University Foundation.

Core Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Manage day-to-day operational aspects of projects that support mail and digital direct marketing channels.
  • Work with mail vendors, printers, in-house equipment, and internal partners as necessary to assist in the execution of all mail solicitations on time and within budget.
  • Assist in the proofreading of draft solicitation letters, pledge acknowledgements, and datafiles to ensure accuracy.
  • Assist with the execution of texting campaigns as needed including loading audiences, sending text messages, and pulling reports after campaigns have closed.
  • Assist team to manage budget for direct marketing projects. This may include helping select paper type and quality for mailings, negotiating best price with vendors, and reworking concepts to fit within budget as needed.
  • Manage inventory of all ASG team supplies and place orders with vendors as needed.
  • Utilize bulk-mail software system and in-house print capabilities to maximize efficiency and minimize costs associated with mailings.
  • Produce other materials such as emails, web copy, social media posts, letters, and video scripts.

Qualifications

Education & Work Experience

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 6 years of marketing, project management, fundraising, or related administrative experience required. Education may be substituted for years of work experience.

  • Ability to effectively assist in all aspects of direct marketing projects, applying knowledge to future projects.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at once, with special attention to deadlines and accuracy.
  • Commitment to accuracy, data integrity, and confidentiality.
  • Working knowledge of integrated marketing communication techniques and principles.
  • Basic knowledge of Marketing Cloud and/or Salesforce is preferred.
  • Knowledge of higher education fundraising is preferred.
  • Ability to maintain regular communication with campus partners and ISU Foundation colleagues with a high degree of professionalism, confidentiality, courtesy, respect, competence, and dependable service.
