Associate Director of Development Systems
The Associate Director of Development Systems is primarily responsible for providing support, training, and administration of the department’s advancement system, The Raiser’s Edge from Blackbaud. The Associate Director will work closely with the Director of Advancement Services and Assistant Director of Constituency Records for the management of The Raiser’s Edge software. This position will maintain and constantly work towards improving the quality and integrity of gift,alumnae/i, and donor records with an eye to improving the quality of and use of information provided by the database in order to maximize fundraising results.
Duties:
- Work with BlackBaud support and Meredith’s Technology Department to facilitate effective use of The Raiser’s Edge, and transfer of information from other College databases to The Raiser’s Edge.
- Design, generate, and manage development reports
- Lend support to Alumnae Relations and The Meredith Fund as needed to create queries, segment lists, etc.
- Work with the Marketing department and other external departments to prepare and send email communications to alumnae and parents on behalf of the College using NetCommunity.
- Set up and manage online registration and donation pages using NetCommunity.
- Provide support and management of secondary departmental technologies (e.g., GiveCampus, PeopleGrove/Meredith Mentors, etc.).
- Provide maintenance and upgrades of Raiser’s Edge software in conjunction with Technology Services Department
- Manage and complete efficient and effective audits of the database.
- Work closely with Gift Processor and Constituent Records staff members on technical challenges to ensure effective and efficient gift processing
- Understand and apply relevant IRS/FERPA/HIPAA/etc. rules to ensure college compliance with applicable laws.
- Provide training and consultation of the software system to Institutional Advancement staff and other College personnel.
- Attend and participate in Institutional Advancement staff meetings and other campus committees as needed
- Effectiveness in developing and supporting inter/intra departmental relationships
- Effective support of entire Advancement department’s use of technology
- Help staff department wide events when needed
Qualifications:
Skills Needed:
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to independently find solutions to issues as they arise.
- Experience with Raiser’s Edge
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work successfully with multiple constituencies, both internal and external.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task.
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality.
Key interfaces:
- Interacts with alumnae and parents as well as current students.
- Works with other campus personnel and members of the Office of Institutional Advancement.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelors Degree
- Three or more years recent experience working with databases, information management, or similar duties.
- Three or more years experience in development/higher education environment desired.
- Three or more years experience with Blackbaud’s The Raiser’s Edge and Crystal Reports are strongly preferred.
Working conditions & physical demands:
- General office setting.
- Must have a valid NC driver’s license and clean driving record as well as the ability to lift heavy packages and boxes.
- Ability to work some evenings and weekends.
