Data Management + Systems Coordinator
Job Summary:
Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) seeks a Data Management and Systems Coordinator to join its team. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled Data Management and Systems Coordinator to be a part of the Institutional Advancement group and correspond to strategic initiatives and institutional needs.
The incumbent is responsible for a range of data integrity, cleansing, manipulation, and update work to support the Division of Institutional Advancement’s efforts to secure private funding through individuals, corporations, and foundations in order to advance RISD’s mission. This person will work closely with the Data Management and Systems team to develop tools and procedures that support an integrated data environment with Blackbaud’s Raiser’s Edge NXT platform and help prioritize data requests and projects from partners in Institutional Advancement and the wider campus.

Essential Functions:
Administrative Support:
Work with the Data Management and Systems team to develop and use deep knowledge of RISD’s data and its configuration within Raiser’s Edge and NXT
- Develop training materials related to Raiser’s Edge/NXT along with other training materials as needed in collaboration the Data Management + Systems Specialist.
- Review, collect and ensure data processes are documented in the Data Management + Systems Policy + Procedure document.
- Administer responses and complete documentation for RISD’s donor recognition name confirmation projects.
- Run scheduled reports and audits to ensure Raiser’s Edge/NXT, RISD specific educational data is correctly entered.
- Reconcile data discrepancies between Raiser’s Edge/NXT with RISD’s enrollment software.
- Serve as liaison to campus partners collaborating with IA and using Raiser’s Edge/NXT.
Data Extraction, Manipulation, and Maintenance:
- Write queries to pull defined criteria provided by offices within Institutional Advancement.
- With a demonstrated proficiency with The Raiser’s Edge platforms, enter and maintain clean accurate data that adheres to departmental data integrity standards.
- Work closely with other members of the Data Management + Systems team as they import and export data for the department’s various needs to fulfill criteria and deadline requests across programs.
Project-Based Work:

Complete assigned data projects as needed (data clean-ups, record coding projects, data reconciliation projects, etc.).
Required Knowledge/Skills/Experience:
- Knowledge of development, fundraising, and advancement services and functions in higher education or a complex not-for-profit environment.
- Ability to work and communicate effectively with a broad spectrum of divisional and institutional colleagues, within an environment that values diversity.
- Capability to work independently and collaboratively with moderate supervision.
- Excellent organization skills, with a demonstrated ability to prioritize, complete multiple demands, and meet deadlines with accuracy and speed.
- Computer skills, such as MS Office, Word, Excel, and Google.
- Analytical skills.
- Associates degree required or equivalent education & experience.
- Minimum two (2) years of progressively responsible experience in data management working in an office or business setting.
Knowledge/Skills/Experiences Preferred:
- Raiser’s Edge experience preferred.
- Prior experience in a development office preferred.
Work Schedule: 35 hours per week; 12 months per year
