Telefund & Student-Based Programs Manager
Position Summary
Reporting to the Senior Associate Director of Annual Giving Programs, the Telefund & Student-Based Programs Manager is responsible for the successful performance of the OSU Foundation’s Student Telephone Outreach Program (call center) and related student philanthropy programs.
Measures of Success
The success of this position will be measured by
- Growing the Telefund program in terms of total dollars raised and utilizing pipeline strategies to identify future major gift donors
- Successful administration of the CREATE Oregon State crowdfunding platform
- Increase current student engagement and giving

Major Duties
- Develop and implement solicitation strategies for the Telephone Outreach Program that involve acquisition, renewal and upgrade techniques to meet annual goals.
- Create and implement strategies related to the pipeline philosophy; focusing on average gift, retention, upgrade rate and reactivation rates.
- Working closely with the Senior Associate Director for Annual Giving Programs, exercise full supervision over student supervisors and a team of 40-60 student callers; hire, train, and evaluate staff, provide assistance in performing difficult or complicated duties, establish work plans and accountabilities. Seek assistance and support from leadership to effectively manage employee behavioral and conduct issues.
- Direct administrative activities related to call center and program operations and assign staff specific duties as needed.
- Help monitor calls to ensure a high quality of interaction between the student callers and donors/prospects; develop strategies to increase quality of phone calls.
- Direct and coordinate activities related to CREATE Oregon State and the OSU crowdfunding platform.
- Develop and analyze reports to track the Telefund, student engagement and CREATE Oregon State progress.
- Prepare monthly payroll for employees.
- In partnership with the OSUAA, create and implement an annual student giving early engagement campaign that incorporates mass solicitation, student volunteers and the Foundation’s crowdfunding platform.
- Work with the OSUF creative team to develop all Telefund communication pieces; manage the pledge fulfillment process by working with gift processing and strategic communications with the pledge and pledge reminder processes.
- In partnership with gift accounting, assist with the processing of all Telefund and crowdfunding gifts according to Foundation policy.
- Ensure that gift accounting receives accurate and appropriate reports in a timely manner.
- Participate in Annual Giving strategy planning, provide input from the previous year results on segmentation and the solicitation calendar.
- Attend monthly development meetings, and, as directed by or agreed to by the Sr. Associate Director for Annual Giving, participate in job/career relevant webinars and other Foundation trainings.
- Work in partnership with the Sr. Associate Director for Annual Giving and the Foundation’s Real Estate and Facilities Operations Manager to ensure safety and security procedures for the call center are developed and enforced.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree and one year of work experience in a higher education automated telemarketing program. Prior experience as a Telefund supervisor preferred. Preference may be given to individuals with prior lead or supervisory work experience. Education and experience equivalencies will be considered.
