The University of Pittsburgh’s Division of Philanthropic & Alumni Engagement (PAE) cultivates relationships with contributors, alumni, and other constituents on behalf of the University of Pittsburgh and UPMC, generating support for teaching, research, and care. The Assistant Director (AD), Direct Marketing oversees strategic appeal creation and project management for alumni annual giving within the University of Pittsburgh’s Division of Philanthropic and Alumni Engagement (PAE). Reporting to the Director of Direct Marketing, the AD plays a key role in increasing annual giving participation to the University of Pittsburgh. The AD participates in:Strategy development, planning, segmentation, and execution of fundraising initiatives for a portfolio of assigned campus partners and the Pitt Fund throughout the fiscal year.Helping to establish and measure goals (by channel, constituency, dollars, and donors), as well as coordinate and schedule all related workflow processes for centrally managed annual giving campaigns.Working with colleagues in Communications Department to develop message content and strategies for fundraising appeals and campaigns aligned with University priorities.The incumbent coordinates the development of print and electronic solicitations with University-approved vendors; tracks performance across all channels; generates performance reports; and continually evaluates segmentation. The ideal candidate will have a professional history of making data-driven decisions to inform strategy, creating dynamic appeals that utilize variable data and personalization, and implementing best practices and industry trends for annual giving direct marketing.
