The Opportunity

The University of Central Florida’s Advancement & Partnerships Division is seeking a results-driven, visionary leader with a passion for fostering impactful corporate partnerships to fill the position of Executive Director, Partnerships. As a crucial member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in advancing UCF’s engagement with corporate partners, contributing to the university’s vision of becoming one of the Top 25 public research universities.

As Executive Director, Partnerships, you will assemble and lead a dedicated UCF engagement team, working collaboratively with designated partners to develop and execute strategic engagement plans. The success of this role will be measured by revenue generation, research collaborations, philanthropy, student engagement, and other metrics defined for each corporate partnership.

Responsibilities:  

  • Support the AVP for Partnerships in implementing a strategy aligned with UCF’s goals for student success, research, innovation, and excellence.
  • Engage in complex business development discussions with companies capable of making significant investments across the university, fostering mutually valuable long-term partnerships.
  • Build and cultivate executive-level relationships with assigned corporate partners and within UCF to drive sustained value creation.
  • Collaborate with designated leads at corporate partners to identify and explore opportunities for engagement and collaboration.
  • Establish and lead a UCF engagement team, comprised of key experts, to define and deliver successful value exchange between corporate partners and UCF.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership skills, leading multiple corporate engagement teams for effective coordination across the university.
  • Create and execute unique strategic engagement plans, measuring progress and reporting regularly to senior leadership.
  • Identify opportunities to diversify and grow university revenue, measuring individual effectiveness through revenue generation, research funding, talent pipeline revenues, philanthropy, and other quantifiable measures.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree and 6+ years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219(6)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proven track record in corporate partnerships, business development, or a partnerships-focused environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interface with key stakeholders.
  • A track record of successful fundraising or sales and revenue diversification.
  • Strong understanding of university-industry collaboration and its impact on revenue generation. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for building and maintaining executive-level relationships.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive successful engagement strategies and achieve measurable outcomes.
  • Knowledge of university policies and procedures is a plus.
  • Knowledge of higher education and the ability to align corporate partnerships with the university’s strategic goals.
  • Excellent negotiation and presentation abilities.

Special Instructions to the Applicants:  

While the full salary range of the position is $104,664 – $156,996 the anticipated salary for a well-qualified candidate is $117,747 – $143,913.

The determination of a successful candidate’s starting salary will vary based on several factors, including education and relevant experience. The anticipated pay scale indicated for this position generally applies to candidates who meet the minimum requirements and several of the preferred qualifications outlined above.
