We are seeking a results-driven and strategic leader to fill the role of Executive Director of Development on our Advancement & Partnerships team. This position serves as the Executive Director of Development for the College of Business (COB) and is responsible for planning, managing, and implementing a comprehensive fundraising strategy to meet established goals. In this role, you will oversee a dedicated team, work closely with the Dean and the leadership team, and play a central role in advancing the philanthropic goals of the college.

Responsibilities:

Strategic Fundraising Planning:

  • Develop and implement a yearly strategic fundraising plan for the College of Business in alignment with the division, university, and college fundraising priorities.

Major and Principal Gift Management:

  • Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward major and principal gift prospects, ensuring that giving opportunities are maximized through effective prospect outreach and management.

Engagement Strategies:

  • Develop and implement targeted strategies to engage university officials, key volunteers, and other stakeholders in major and principal gift development efforts.

Chief Fundraiser:

  • Act as the Chief Fundraiser for the College of Business, collaborating closely with the Dean and the leadership team to establish fundraising priorities and goals for the college.

Donor Recognition and Stewardship:

  • Oversee the coordination of all donor recognition and stewardship events and activities in support of fundraising goals.

Team Management:

  • Lead, mentor, and manage the development team and staffing for the College of Business.

  • This includes budget planning and monitoring, resource allocation for optimal fundraising results, and coordinating activities involving volunteers, prospects, faculty, and administration.

Recruitment:

  • Participate in recruiting experienced and diverse leadership on boards and committees to ensure representation and responsiveness to the communities served.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree and 6+ years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219(6).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proven track record in fundraising, with a focus on major and principal gifts.

  • Strong leadership, team management, and budgeting skills.

  • Direct experience in higher education, preferably in an academic fundraising environment.

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.

  • Strategic thinking and the ability to create and execute effective fundraising plans.

  • Experience with fundraising databases and systems such as Blackbaud CRM, Raisers Edge, or Salesforce.

The anticipated salary for a well-qualified candidate is $117,747 – $143,913, depending on experience and education.
