Associate Director Annual & Special Gifts

The Associate Director Annual and Special Gift will play a critical role in strengthening, measuring, and expanding Montefiore and Einstein’s annual giving efforts. Collaboratively partner with the Director of Annual and Special Gifts to plan, execute, and evaluate multiple annual fund solicitations for Montefiore & Einstein, utilizing marketing channels including direct mail, email, social media, and individual donor outreach.  This may include developing appeal language, partnering with operations and external relations to oversee back-end processes around data and approvals, and/or coordinating with designers, mail houses and other vendors. Perform analysis related to solicitation result tracking, segment composition, and population performance and perform cost-benefit analysis of direct marketing projects outlining return on investment and effectiveness of appeals.  Lead an effort to build a culture of digital philanthropy by understanding and deploying best practices in social media, web-based target marketing, interactive appeals, and other emergent digital trends.

Education/Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • Experience in annual giving, direct marketing, or fundraising
  • Highly motivated self-starter who is engaging, resilient and resourceful with the ability to work independently, as well as part of a team
  • Demonstrate keen understanding of annual giving strategies, constituencies, methods, metrics, and best practices preferably in a higher education or healthcare setting
  • Ability to effectively communicate both written and orally with the intended audience
  • Curiosity and analytical thinking; complex problem solving; ability to organize, prioritize and complete multiple projects simultaneously with close attention to detail; meet deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to foster strong collaborative relationships at all levels of a complex organization and professionally interact with all levels of students, staff, faculty, donors, and external contacts
  • Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends as required
  • Experience in working with Raiser’s Edge or similar database highly desirable
  • Highly skilled at MS Office Suite

Scheduled Hours: 8:30 AM-5 PM  

Salary Range/Pay Rate: $90,000.00  $120,000.00
